BRIEF RATIONALE: This word verification treatment targets the semantic system and decision-making.

In Spoken Word Decision, you will hear a compound word and decide if the picture matches using the yes/no buttons. Use the audio button to replay the word at any time. You can expand the image using using the arrows in the bottom-right corner.

HINT: A hint button is available in the lower-left corner of the screen to reveal the written word for additional support. Using the hint will mark the item as incorrect (as it was not answered with only the audio stimulus), but may help you associate the word with the image.

FOR THE CLINICIAN: Before the patient selects the yes or no button, consider asking, "Does the word match the picture? Yes or no?" This will help them select the correct button. If the word does not match, ask them to name the picture with support as needed (e.g. provide a phonemic cue or first-letter cue).
