Homework: Setting it Up
Homework is so important to neuroplastic recovery for patients. Using technology for homework can give patients the intensity of practice they need to improve. That's why we offer FREE homework for your patients. Cost should not be a barrier to recovery.
Your patients can do homework on any device with a web browser: desktop, laptop, iPad, tablet, or even a mobile phone!

Here's what the whole process looks like:
You can assign up to 9 treatments for unlimited use to any patient on your active caseload. Here's how:
- Go to the patient's profile and click on Homework. You'll see all the treatments available for homework. To ensure the patient knows what to do and that the treatment is appropriate, treatments available for homework must be:
- in the Treatment Plan
- used at least once
- Click +Add to add a treatment to the homework. Then you'll have the option to customize trials and levels or click + Add again to use default settings.
Note: In default settings, the patient will resume on the level where they last left off and levels auto-adjust based on performance.
Suggested Trials: If you’d like to adjust the recommended trials, use the dropdown. Patients will see when their target is met. The average time per trial is shown to help you select an appropriate amount of practice.
Setting Levels: Sometimes, it's helpful to set levels based on a patient's specific needs. Use the drop-down menu to select the lowest and highest levels that your patient will practice. Levels will auto-adjust within the range you set based on performance. Select the same level for both to keep your patient on a single level.
Note: You can see which level the patient will start on based on their performance.
Click + Add after you've chosen settings.
Click -Remove to remove a treatment from homework. Click Edit to adjust settings at any time. Changes are made to the patient's homework plan instantly.
Your homework plan saves automatically.
- Add the patient's email address after getting verbal consent. Add an optional Message and click Save. Click Invite.
This message will appear on the main screen of the Virtual Rehab Center when the patient logs in. The message will be saved for you to edit or add between updates. This space can be used for:
- recommended practice time
- general encouragement
- reminders about strategies
- notes about what has changed
- other things to do for homework outside the VRC treatment

Homework Availability
Homework is available at NO CHARGE to up to 10* of your patients as long as:
- You remain a member of the Virtual Rehab Center
- Your patient remains on your Active caseload
- There are treatments in their Homework Plan
*Group or Enterprise license clinicians may have different numbers of homework users based on your plan.
