This article is for: Virtual Rehab Center (VRC)
The Tactus Virtual Rehab Center (VRC) combines interactive treatments, patient homework, documentation tools to help you write SMART goals and SOAP notes, and downloadable handouts in one clinician subscription. It’s designed to help you deliver treatment during appointments and give patients supported practice between sessions.
It is a web app, meaning it's a website you can access on any device. It's not an EMR or simulation software.
If you’re comparing web-based subscriptions, the key question is what each one lets you and your patients do. Here’s what sets VRC apart from Medbridge, Honeycomb, Therapy Insights, and Constant Therapy.

Tactus Virtual Rehab Center vs. Medbridge
Choose the Tactus VRC when you want patients to actively work through speech and cognitive treatments, with cues, scoring, and feedback.
Medbridge offers a large array of continuing education courses for CEUs for SLP, OT, and PT. They also have a home exercise library with videos of common rehab exercises. This makes them an attractive subscription for hospital rehab departments for all therapy disciplines.
However, Medbridge’s video-based home exercises only demonstrate what to practice. This can be all that is needed for physical exercises assigned by physical and occupational therapists. But it's not ideal for speech therapy.
The VRC takes patients through the practice itself: presenting tasks, offering support, scoring responses, and adjusting difficulty based on performance.
For example, instead of watching a demonstration of a language exercise, a patient can work through a series of language tasks with hints and feedback appropriate to that treatment. Scoring varies by activity and may include automatic scoring, clinician scoring, or patient self-ratings.
VRC also connects that practice to your clinical workflow:
- Assign treatments for patients to complete between appointments.
- Review homework performance, including accuracy and support used.
- Use session data to help document treatment and plan what comes next.
Medbridge offers participation tracking, but completing an exercise video is different from measuring performance within a treatment. The VRC helps you see how patients are doing, not just whether they practiced. The Handout Vault is also more comprehensive than Medbridge's patient education offerings.
If your facility is pushing for Medbridge as an all-in-one solution for rehab therapists, email us, and we'll send you a letter to help explain to your manager why Speech Pathology also needs the Virtual Rehab Center.
Tactus Virtual Rehab Center vs. Honeycomb
Choose the VRC when you want therapy to continue beyond the time you spend guiding the patient.
Honeycomb’s resources primarily support clinician-guided, participation-focused therapy. Its materials and Digital ADLs give you activities to work through when you're with patients.
The VRC also has digital treatments and handouts you can use in sessions, while adding a structured way for patients to practice independently between sessions. You select their treatments, and the platform provides instructions, cues, and feedback to support repeated practice. You can then review their performance and adjust their homework.
During appointments, the VRC also reduces the work of presenting individual items and recording responses. Its interactive treatments bring the activity, support, and performance information together.
The advantage is more opportunities to practice without requiring you to guide and score every response. The emphasis on patient-centered care and evidence-based practice is the same.
Tactus Virtual Rehab Center vs. Therapy Insights
Choose the VRC when you want handouts you can download as well as interactive treatments.
Therapy Insights membership provides access to a wide selection of beautifully designed print resources for all ages and a variety of rehab disciplines. You can print worksheets and assign them, but all products are print-only.
The VRC’s Handout Vault gives you downloadable PDFs. You can:
- Assign handouts directly to patients through VRC.
- Download and print them.
- Email downloaded copies to patients or care partners.
- Keep and continue using downloaded handouts after your subscription ends.
VRC handouts are designed for adults with communication and cognitive difficulties, with larger text, picture support, and plenty of white space to process information or write notes.
You also get interactive treatment and patient homework alongside your handouts, so you can combine education, strategies, and practice within the same platform.
Tactus Virtual Rehab Center vs. Constant Therapy
Choose the VRC when you want patient homework included in your clinician subscription, without asking patients to purchase their own membership.
With Constant Therapy’s free clinician account, standard patient access begins with a 2-week trial. Continuing home practice then requires a patient subscription. Paid organizational arrangements may include different patient access.
The VRC’s clinician subscription includes homework for up to 10 patients at no additional cost to those patients. They can continue their assigned practice while you treat them and maintain their homework access.
The VRC also brings interactive treatment, documentation tools, and the Handout Vault together in your clinician membership. You can use flashcards for flexible or group treatment and provide downloadable resources to support patient education.
The treatment experience matters, too. The VRC includes activities built around functional real-life situations. Explore its treatments to see how the materials, cues, and pacing fit your patients’ needs.
For clinicians, the key difference is an integrated treatment platform that includes patient homework. For patients, it’s access to practice without another subscription bill.
Try the VRC with your patients in mind
The best way to understand the difference is to try a treatment you would use in a session, download a handout, and explore how patient homework works.
The Tactus Virtual Rehab Center offers a 21-day clinician trial so you can see how it fits your caseload and workflow. You may choose the VRC as your main treatment platform or use it alongside resources you already value. Sign up here: tactustherapy.com/rehab
